This privately operated Missouri reference site is not a sheriff's office, jail, court, or corrections agency. It cannot verify who is in custody or has been released, provide or remove a booking photo, post bond, or retrieve an official record. Contact the government office that created or holds the record for confirmation or a copy.

Find the Missouri Records Office

The arresting agency, county jail, court, and corrections department keep different records. There is no single statewide sheriff's address or phone number for every Missouri arrest. First identify the county or city and the type of record, then use that official custodian's channel. A public roster may not list every arrest or remain online after release.

  • Local arrest or jail booking: choose the locality in the County Directory to reach that jurisdiction's official site. Use its sheriff or police records route for a booking record or photo; the statewide records page explains what to include in a request.
  • Court outcome: check Missouri Courts' Case.net or ask the clerk for the case file. The charge at booking is an allegation; the court docket is the source for a plea, judgment, or later order.
  • State correctional supervision: search the official MODOC offender database. For state department records, use MODOC's Sunshine Law records page or its official contact page. This is a state-supervision layer, not a county booking roster.
  • Federal custody: use the Bureau of Prisons locator for federal inmates or ICE's detainee locator for immigration custody. These are separate custody searches, not public booking-photo galleries or Missouri county feeds.
  • Active wanted notice: the Most Wanted page routes to official Missouri and federal notice sources. Use the listed tip channel; do not approach a person named in a notice.
  • Older photos and records: use the Old Mugshot Archives page for the State Archives collections, retention schedule, county microfilm, and historical-record request path.

Missouri's Sunshine Law, including RSMo ยง 610.023, governs how covered public agencies handle public-record requests. Direct a request to the responsible agency's custodian. Avoid posting sensitive personal details publicly; a name, approximate date, agency, and case number can help the office identify the record.

If a published record needs correction, provide its exact URL, the person's name, booking date, arresting agency, and an official order or disposition when it applies. Send the request to the publisher or government office responsible for that copy. A full identity document is not needed when a docket entry or signed order establishes the point. If a record is sealed, expunged, juvenile, or otherwise restricted, tell the custodian and follow its access rules; an older online copy does not override those limits.
